1. About these terms
By accessing this website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Separate course-specific terms apply to the Sanatayn Course (see Part B below).
2. The website
Ocean of Islam ("we", "our") operates this website at oceanofislam.uk and the student portal at courses.oceanofislam.uk. Course delivery, payments, and learner accounts are handled on the student portal under that platform's separate terms.
3. Content
All written, visual, and audio content on this site is the property of Ocean of Islam unless otherwise stated. You may share short excerpts with attribution; please don't republish full pages without permission.
4. External links
We link to external services including our student portal, payment processor (Stripe), booking system (YouCanBookMe), and social platforms. We are not responsible for the content or practices of these third parties.
5. Limitation of liability
Information on this site is provided in good faith. We make no warranty as to its completeness or accuracy and are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on it.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
Part B — Sanatayn Course Terms & Policies
The following terms apply to all students enrolled in the Sanatayn Course offered by Ocean of Islam. By enrolling, you agree to these terms in addition to the general website terms above.
8. Enrolment & payments
All course fees must be paid in full — or via an agreed instalment plan — before classes begin. Access to live lessons, course materials, and assessments is granted only after successful payment. Where an instalment plan is in place, students must keep payments up to date; failure to do so may result in suspension of course access until the outstanding balance is settled.
9. Refund policy
Students are entitled to a full refund if they withdraw within 7 days of enrolment and before attending the second live class (cooling-off period). After this period, course fees are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the administration.
If a course is cancelled by Ocean of Islam, students will receive a full refund. Refunds are processed within 10–14 working days. Absence from a class does not qualify for a refund or fee reduction.
10. Attendance & participation
Students are expected to attend all live classes regularly and on time. Recordings are not provided for privacy reasons, so consistent attendance is strongly encouraged. Students are responsible for catching up on any missed content via class notes or peer support.
11. Course completion & certification
Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of the course. Eligibility requires meeting the minimum attendance threshold (75% or above) and passing end-of-term assessments, as specified by the administration.
12. Course access & materials
Course materials — including slides, notes, and any supplementary resources — are for the personal use of enrolled students only. Sharing login credentials, Zoom links, recordings, or course materials with anyone outside the course is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal without refund.
13. Changes to schedule
Ocean of Islam reserves the right to adjust lesson timings, teaching staff, or delivery format where circumstances require it. Students will be given reasonable advance notice of any changes.
Part C — Safeguarding & Privacy Policy (Sisters-Only Courses)
14. Privacy & recordings
Live sessions must not be recorded by students. Students must not record, download, or share any class content without explicit written permission from the administration. This rule exists to protect the privacy of all participants.
15. Sisters-only environment
The Sanatayn Course is strictly for female students. Students must ensure their learning space is private and not accessible to non-registered individuals during live sessions. Zoom links and student portal access must not be shared with anyone else.
Cameras and microphones are generally required for student interaction. When on camera, students should ensure modest attire and a suitable, quiet environment. Exceptions may be agreed with the teacher or administrator. Teachers are not required to keep their cameras on.
16. Respectful conduct
All students and teachers are expected to uphold Islamic manners in speech, chat, and all interactions. Disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate behaviour will result in removal from the course without refund.
17. Student accountability
Any breach of privacy rules — including allowing non-registered individuals to attend, sharing Zoom links or portal access, or misusing course materials — may result in immediate removal from the course without refund.
18. Data protection
Student information is kept secure and used only for course-related communication, in compliance with UK GDPR. Contact details and personal information will not be shared with third parties without consent. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
19. Technology responsibility
Students are responsible for ensuring they have a reliable device, a stable internet connection, and an up-to-date version of Zoom for smooth participation. Technical difficulties on the student's side do not qualify for refunds or fee reductions.
20. Pastoral support
Ocean of Islam is committed to supporting students throughout their learning journey. Students experiencing challenges that may affect their attendance or participation are encouraged to contact the course administrator confidentially for advice and support.
21. Safeguarding concerns
Any safeguarding concerns or breaches of the privacy policy must be reported immediately to the course administrator at info@oceanofislam.uk. Ocean of Islam reserves the right to take appropriate action to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
Part D — Additional Terms for Students Aged 14–17
22. Parental / guardian consent
Students under 18 must have the written permission of a parent or legal guardian to enrol. The parent or guardian remains responsible for the student's conduct and adherence to all course policies.
23. Safeguarding & duty of care
All teachers and staff are expected to hold current DBS certification and uphold safeguarding principles in line with UK standards. Any concerns about the welfare or safety of a student will be taken seriously and reported to the designated safeguarding lead without delay.
Teachers will not communicate privately with students under 18 outside official platforms (Zoom and the student portal). Any necessary one-to-one communication must take place through official channels only.
24. Supervision
Parents and guardians of under-18 students are encouraged to be aware of the sessions their child is attending and to remain contactable during class times. The course administrator can be reached at info@oceanofislam.uk for any concerns.
