Report a safeguarding concern
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Muhammed Ahmed. You can contact him at admin@oceanofislam.uk or +44 7427 487410. Please report a concern as soon as possible and, where it relates to an Ocean of Islam activity, on the same day.
Email is suitable for making initial contact, but please do not include unnecessary medical information, intimate details or full accounts of an allegation in an ordinary email. Staff should make the full record through the secure incident form in the authenticated admin portal.
If the concern is about the Designated Safeguarding Lead, contact another Ocean of Islam administrator and state clearly that the concern relates to the DSL.
What happens when you report
We record the concern securely, assess immediate risk and decide what action is needed. This may include speaking to the person affected, preserving relevant records, contacting a parent or guardian where appropriate, or referring the matter to the police, local authority or another safeguarding agency. We share information only with people who need it to protect welfare, investigate or meet a legal duty.
Online learning and professional boundaries
- Staff and students must use approved class links, accounts and learning platforms.
- Staff must not communicate privately with a student under 18 outside official channels.
- Students must not share Zoom links, portal credentials, class materials or recordings.
- Disclosures should be listened to calmly. Do not promise secrecy, investigate the allegation yourself or ask leading questions.
Lesson recordings
Where recording is part of a course, Ocean of Islam records lessons for educational use and releases them privately to authorised enrolled students through the authenticated portal. Students may not record, download or redistribute lessons unless Ocean of Islam has given explicit written permission.
Sanatayn for Sisters is a private sisters-only learning environment and its lessons are not recorded.
Our staff framework
Staff, teachers, contractors and volunteers are required to follow our Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy, Staff Code of Conduct and Sisters-Only Learning Addendum. Current versions are issued and acknowledged through the secure staff portal.
